This year I am hoping to raise funds for the very active charity, MOTOR
NEURONE DISEASE SCOTLAND. - www.mndscotland.org.uk
- in memory of a good friend of mine, Anne Shearer, who lost her
battle against this most cruel disease just before Christmas 2018.
Anne was always active, enjoying exercise not just 'because it is good
for you', but for the appreciation of all that is wonderful in the
great outdoors. She loved the brightness and warmth of the sun, the
beautiful scenery that surrounds us and the power of nature with its
wild winds and unpredictability.

Therefore I have decided that the challenges I will undertake for her must be active!  So, my first challenge is to backpack, camping each night, the Southern Upland Way - 215 miles - at the end of April/beginning of May (quite a thought as I am now in my middle 70's). My husband AKA 'The Porter' is coming too!

A lot of people have heard of Motor Neurone Disease now through the bravery and determination of Doddie Weir.  We must help those suffering and find a cure for this most terrible illness.
