Clearwater International is fundraising for the next phase of the Khaya project in Orange Farm, near Johannesburg. The team will visit South Africa in October to help with building the community centre.

Story

We'll be working with the Footprints Foundation to convert a derelict building into a community centre. The site is located on a squatter camp within Orange Farm, Johannesburg, an area that is subject to high levels of deprivation and social challenges. The aim for this centre is to provide a place for education, medical provision and a feeding programme in 2020.

The Footprints Foundation aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable young and elderly people, and those people with significant health issues. The Foundation aims to support these people during the most trying periods of their lives and help give them the strength and confidence to enjoy a fulfilled life. The aim is to support through volunteering and hands on help rather than solely providing financial support.
