I am taking on Panama Coast to Coast which starts on 18 March 2023. This is an extreme challenge for me but worth taking on to raise money for MS Society; a charity close to my heart. My Aunty was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was around 30 and has suffered with MS for the last 30+ years. I have seen her condition gradually deteriorate and seen her admitted to hospital on many occasions. The work that MS Society does towards this awful condition is absolutely amazing and I know that every penny raised will be put to great use.

I have self-funded this challenge and so every single penny raised will go to MS Society. I have been working hard to get ready for this ridiculous challenge for about a year now - whilst also questioning my sanity.

THE CHALLENGE 

Over 7 days, I will be covering 200km from the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean Coast of Panama. The first two days of the challenge is the road running stage. I will cover a distance of approximately 41km on day 1 and 45km on day 2. I will be running on the quiet roads and tracks of Panama through coffee and fruit farming scenery towards the continental divide of the Americas.

Days 3-6 will include trekking through the jungle and covering a total distance of around 70km. I will be sleeping in a hammock in the middle of the jungle and surrounded by the jungle wildlife. I will also be carrying a pack of around 15kg on my back and surviving from whatever I can carry.

The last day is pack-rafting a distance of around 40km down Changuinola River to the Caribbean Coast. I will then spend the rest of the day in Bocas del Toro before returning home a (probably) broken and blistered woman!
