Story
My mum has been living with Alzheimer’s and dementia for years now. These conditions have caused her - and all of us who love her - huge amounts of pain and heartbreak.
I guess I have two messages. One is that Alzheimer’s is a terrible and relentless disease that nobody should have to endure. And two, is that I truly believe we can find treatments that will stop and eventually cure dementia.
Starting on Mum’s birthday (April 2nd) I will be walking 350km, the distance from London to Paris - where she and Dad went on honeymoon - to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research which aims to beat all forms of dementia. It’s the equivalent of walking a marathon a week for 8 weeks. Due to COVID travel restrictions, I will be doing this via long daily walks rather than strolling along the Seine or past the Eiffel Tower. I may treat myself to the occasional croissant as compensation!
I know times are tough but please donate any amount you can afford and share this link to help end this horrible disease. And feel free to join me on a walk - I’ll be the one wearing an orange charity neckwarmer!
