At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Sarah does the 3 peaks!

With only my iPod for company, in September I will be climbing the 3 peaks in a weekend - for those of you who don't know these are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon; the highest of the mountains in Scotland, England and Wales respectively.

In 2007, my Grandpa died having suffered from Alzheimer’s.  Over the course of his illness this horrific disease took him from a fun loving, energetic sparkling man to a shell, unable to even remember who his loved ones were. I feel that out of all diseases, this one is one of the worst, yet still has little research and support.

Grandpa could walk for miles – and therefore I felt that dedicating the support and sponsorship to him makes this a worthwhile cause.  I’m not asking for much as every donation helps, and thank you for anything that you feel that you can give.

xx

p.s. also a BIG thank you to mum and dad who have helped organise me (and the challenge) and who are driving me like mad things round the country :o)

p.p.s.  If anyone feels like joining me on any of the mountains, the company and support would be welcome – send me an email for projected timings!
