Story
This year Seafarers UK have been helping seafarers and their families across the UK for 100 years. They are a charity that feeds smaller seafaring charities such as the Fishermans Mission with vital funds to enable them to support fishermen and their families in times of need and assistance.
I am married to a Brixham trawlerman and have seen over the last three decades the amazing work that goes in our small coastal communities where the community is so dependent on fishing and the sea. I am running the London Marathan in 2018 and Plymouth Ocean City half marathan in May 2018 to raise funds for Seafarers UK to celebrate their centenary and to help them on their way with the next 100 years of helping seafaring families around our UK waters.
I am not a natural runner, am not in my first flush of youth, and the journey for me will be a tough one. Fishing is a tough and treacherous job and it is important that our seafarers have support when they really need it. Please give generously direct through this Just Giving page.
