Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was so inspired by Hannah Francis, that when I read about the Wobbleberry Challenge, Sophie (my daughter) persuaded me to accept the challenge and to raise money in Hannah's name. I have always enjoyed riding but since losing my horse  in 2006, I have been busy taking my children to competitions and struggled to find the time and confidence to start again. This year I have turned 51, I am unfit, over weight and haven't ridden much at all for the last 10 years. I will be riding and competing on Finn (who is none too impressed by me at the moment), who I ride very occasionally and have jumped the odd very small jump. A British Eventing BE80 one day event is nothing to so many riders, but for someone like me this is a massive challenge. Frankly at the moment keeping my balance is enough! never mind staying in a dressage arena, and jumping a course of show jumps and cross country fences!  And there is the small matter first of getting fit and losing enough weight to fit in my riding gear.

Hannah's charity "Willberry Wonder Pony" raises money for bone cancer research and osteosarcoma in particular, and to help grant "Willberry Wishes" for seriously ill young people and their families.
