Story
My name is Sarah and I am collaborating with other GRCC nursing students to organize a food drive and donations to support it for Kids' Food Basket. This effort is directed to develop awareness of the food insecurity that exists within Kent county and surrounding counties. Additionally, spreading awareness of Kids' Food Basket and their involvement in challenging this insecurity issue through recognition of their services and access to their resources remains a priority. Through this we hope to inspire more active involvement from the community with Kids' Food Basket directly through volunteering or donating. We also hope this particular drive will provide the opportunity to develop at least $100 worth of snack supper lunches for these struggling children.
Snack supper lunches are nutritious, balanced meals KFB organizes and delivers to local low-income schools with children suffering from food insecurity. These suppers include protein, fruit, dairy, and grain items to help educate and promote healthy eating habits amongst this population.
We would appreciate your support in funding the food that goes into these snack supper lunches through this Wish List Drive and spread the word of our efforts to fight food insecurity within our community!
