I'm running for British Heart Foundation, which is one of the most important charities in the UK, - coronary heart disease is this biggest single killer in this country.  BHF also fund research into all forms of heart health problems and raise awareness on ways to keep your heart healthy.

As many of you know, my dad suffered a heart attack in March 2010.   His condition was so serious that he was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, which has one of the most advanced cardiac units in the country, where modern, less intrusive treatment of heart disease has been pioneered.  Research into such treatment is only made possible by funding from charities such as BHF so your money really will help save lives.  Thankfully my dad has made a great recovery and lives a healthier lifestyle these days!

This will be my first marathon so your moral support will be appreciated just as much as your financial support.  I'll be training throughout the summer, so please let me know if you'd ever like to join me on a long run!
