Great North Bike Ride 2022 · 28 August 2022 ·
Seven years after cycling London to Brighton, and I am hoping to complete the Great North Bike Ride. I have been working hard to build up my time on the bike, distance and elevation etc but loosing most of June to Covid, and starting several steps back afterwards, has made the last few weeks much more of a challenge. Indeed, I have waited until now to post this again, unsure of my confidence to go ahead.
The ride starts at Seahouses, near my beloved Bamburgh, and weaves its way along the North Northumberland coastline to Tynemouth Priory and Castle. The event is the main annual fundraiser for the Chris Lucas Trust, which is in memory of Chris who died age 18 of rhabdomyosarcoma. Money raised from the event is currently funding research using human gene trials into this particularly agressive form of childhood cancer.
Knowing that I have your support, and that together we are part of making a difference, would help encourage me along the way. Thank you 😊
