Friends of Education Africa UK supports the work of Education Africa by raising awareness and funding for its programmes in South Africa. Guided by a mission of Poverty Alleviation through Education, Education Africa focuses on Early Childhood Development (ECD), teacher training, and arts projects such as the Marimba Project, expanding access to quality, relevant education in underserved communities. Funds raised in the UK contribute directly to programmes that improve the quality of early learning, strengthen teaching practice, and create safe, engaging spaces for children to grow and learn. This includes SAQA-accredited teacher training, ongoing mentorship, and creative education programmes that build confidence, skills, and social cohesion. As a UK-based support network, Friends of Education Africa helps connect donors and partners to meaningful, measurable impact, contributing to long-term educational outcomes and stronger communities.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

I am proud to announce that I have just become Vice Chairman of the UK Board of Trustees for Education Africa and as such myself and the team at Global Career Company are ramping up our fundraising activities for this amazing charity.

Education Africa is a South African based charity that works together with disadvantaged communities to address the issue of inequality in education, a legacy left behind by the apartheid system. Their motto is “Making real change happen; poverty alleviation through education”.

The charity assists disadvantaged South Africans in their quest to obtain a quality, relevant education in order to ensure that they are in a position to become global citizens and a competitive, productive element in the local job market.

I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro along with other members of the Global Career Company team.  We set off on 20th May for a six day intrepid climb.

Please do sponsor me and help me raise funds to assist this great cause.  Thank you.
