Story

Spring into Action for St John Ambulance

Jamie Douglas' Charity Event

Help us to raise money for St John Ambulance

Can you help us raise money for an amazing charity that helps save people's lives?

St John Ambulance is the charity that steps forward in the moments that matter to save lives and keep communities safe. They provide first aid services for communities and for emergency support.

Did you know that they have supported the NHS during the covid-19 pandemic? They have supported with emergency calls and with the rollout of the vaccines. True heroes!

As well as this, they also provide training to companies, authorities, and to members of the public. (Including myself having recently joined the St John's Cadets)

I joined St John Ambulance Cadets to help make a positive impact and to help people. My interest started when we were coming back from visiting my Grandad and I happened to see a St John Ambulance. I questioned what it was and my dad told me it was a St John Ambulance. I was very interested to know about it. This is when we discovered that they do Cadet training. I thought, "Sign me up!"

All of St John Ambulance's charitable work is entirely funded by donations which is why we have decided to plan an event and raise money that will contribute to help support communities and help save people's lives.

When I put the St John Cadet uniform on, I will help make a difference. Can you help me make that difference by taking part and/or donating to this amazing charity?

Charity Event - Treadmillathon

Date: Sunday 11th April 2021

Time: 11:00am- 16:00pm

Location: Thompson Close, Mickleover (Outside no.31)

Our aim is to accomplish walking/running a marathon distance on a treadmill. We would like this to be a team effort with people having designated slots and taking turns to keep the treadmill consistently going (bar a minute or two to sanitize in between people's run to ensure Covid safety measures)

We will have cakes and refreshments available in which a small donation would go along the way to put towards St John Ambulance's Spring into Action appeal. (If you would like to donate cakes that would be fantastic!)

Put your walking/running shoes on and 'Spring into Action' to help us raise money for the St John heroes! Let's achieve the marathon goal together... We need you!

Please contact Laura Douglas/ Jamie and/or Sarah Holmes and we can make a plan to keep the treadmill moving all day to achieve our marathon target. Spring is the season of new beginnings for all and together, we can do this!

If you would just like to wander up for refreshments and make donations, you are more than welcome :) Alternatively, if you are not available and wish to donate to this fantastic cause, please donate via this Just Giving page.

So this April, 'Spring into Action' for St John Ambulance and support our volunteers as they continue to step forward to give vital support to those in need across the country.
