South Coast Mighty Hike 2024 - full marathon · 8 June 2024 ·
In June 2024, I am taking on a Mighty Hike along the stunning South Downs Way to raise money for people living with cancer.
In August we unfortunately lost my wife and mother to my wonderful children, Hannah and William to cancer. She unfortunately lost her long battle to this horrible disease during the summer.
Sarah was a wonderful person. A beautiful wife, a fantastic mother, a loyal friend and a hub for both sides of our families.
Sarah first found out she had cancer during 2019. She battled really bravely and in October 2021 she rang the bell and was in remission. Unfortunately, Sarah started to get ill again just over a year ago, and after a few weeks, she finally went back to the doctor's. Sarah was then referred to the specialist again, which is when we found out that the cancer had unfortunately returned.
After many appointments and further bad news, the cancer had spread so quickly, that we couldn't keep up with it, and on the 28th of July I had to take Sarah into hospital with breathing problems. This is where she then spent the rest of her days, unfortunately getting sucker and sicker. On Monday 7th of August, Sarah was taken from us. 💔
Sarah battled all the way through all of her treatments and tried to win her war., but this was not meant to be. I miss Sarah so much, as do the children.
Macmillan Cancer Support were there for Sarah and helped her through the whole journey. I cannot thank them enough for all the work they do. SoI have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
So if you can afford to give me a donation towards this great charity, no matter how small or big, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
In memory of Sarah ❤️💚❤️💚
