Story

Our beloved Dad lost his fight for life last November spending his last days in LOROS. It is truly an amazing place, staffed by the most dedicated, wonderful, caring people and we couldn't have wished for anywhere else for him to be.

LOROS Hospice is a local charity, that provides free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. £5 pays for meals for one patient for a day. £25 pays for a uniform for a nurse and £870 pays for the running of the Hospice for one hour.

For those of you who knew Nigel (and that was a lot of people) he was a one of a kind. A true gentleman, loved and respected by everyone who had the pleasure to meet him and be his friend.

We are truly blessed and proud that he was our Dad. We were everything to him and he would and did do anything for us. After struggling with his health, he was diagnosed at the end of February last year with terminal cancer. During this time he endured being unable to talk, eat or drink (his most favourite things in the world to do). We all endured the most difficult year of our lives, full of ups and downs and tears and laughter.

One of things we discovered since he left us was that he gave hugely to charity, LOROS, Macmillan and Save the Children to name a few.

We are both so grateful to LOROS and couldn't be prouder to take part in this year's Twilight Walk in April and Colourfun Mile in June in his memory but also to raise money for this amazing charity who rely on the generosity of people's donations to provide care for patients and their families when they need it the most.

Our Dad would be so proud of us and will be with us every step of the way - and it's a lot of steps 👟.

Love always
