Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On October 21st, I will be taking part in the inaugural London Tunnel2Towers Run. This event was inspired by a similar event in New York, set up in memory of Stephen Siller, a member of the Fire Department of NY, who was lost in the events of 9/11.
I am a member of the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Band, and we have been asked to partake in the run. However, there's a twist - we won't be running!! We will be marching, and playing music the whole way around the circuit, in full military uniform. Which is pure wool.....very heavy, and very hot!! I promise you, this will be a LOT harder than it sounds.
All those taking part have chosen to raise money for their own special charity, and I will be raising money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, which is a fantastic local charity which does an immense amount of good for children's and cancer charities across Yorkshire, the UK, and globally.
Cancer has affected a number of my very close family over the years. Some have survived and are well, some we have lost, and some continue to fight it. Every last penny that I can raise for this charity will hopefully help many people to survive, battle and live with this terrible disease, so please give whatever you can, however small, as every bit really does count.
Please, please, please support this amazing charity, it really will be so much appreciated.
