Hey all!
I have signed up to do the Chichester 10K on Sunday 5th February (supporters welcome!) and thought I'd raise some money for charity while I was puffing my way round the course. Rape Crisis is a charity that means something to me, not because I've been personally affected, but because so many people are (estimates range from 1 in 20 women in the UK suffering rape to 1 in 4 suffering some form of sexual abuse in their lifetime), and generally people don't like to talk about it.
The charity helps so many women and children, and its funding is being horribly cut, alongside other charities that offer support to vulnerable people.
I realise that in comparison to many of the people I'm asking (marathon runners, Lands End to John o'Groats cyclists, base camp Everest ascenders) my run is on the paltry side, but please believe me when I say it's a challenge for me! Although I am hoping to do other things ...
If you feel you can give something, it would be very very much appreciated, but please don't feel pressured - I know money is tight and sponsorship requests are many!
On to the small print:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you very much, and wish me luck! Sarah xxx
