The Rwenzori Trust was set up in 1992 to promote education and training in Uganda, focusing on the Rwenzori mountain area. This aim is currently being met through a “child sponsorship project”: subsidising school fees for secondary and tertiary education for young people in the Rwenzori area.

Story

So, how did we get on? Despite running 3 miles to the start line following the fiasco of the jubilee line not working, and in rain like a biblical flood, we all finished in very respectable times. Sarah (in fetching white compression socks) finished in 1.50.57, Catherine (who later jogged home, the nutter) finished in 2.05.35 and Louise (a half marathon virgin) finished in 2.22.24. What a day!

Thanks so, so much to everyone for your fantastic support. Thanks to you we smashed our fundraising target. Your generosity really does change lives. We can now assure 35 children that they will continue to receive funding for their school fees next year, and we may even be able to expand our programme a little to help more kids.
