I'm running the Race for Life in memory of my Dad, Mike Moore. He fought cancer and won a long time ago before it finally came back to get him on 20 February 2014. All the radiotherapy he had way back when saved his life but caused irreparable harm. Modern methods of treatment may be more advanced and less destructive - we need to keep the research going to find better ways of treating and beating the big C.
I'm running 5k on Hampstead Heath on 5 July 2014. Dad was planning to come and visit me in July. He loved the Heath - particularly after getting to the top and downing a pint of ale in Spaniard's. So it seems fitting.
