Story

Thanks for visiting my fund raising page.

Well, I did it.  I finished the London marathon in 5.29.19.

I ran for 17 miles before my knee gave in & I walked the rest - hence the rather fresh face for my medal photograph.  My half was great at 2.19.  The marathon was a challenge but a really great experience and an achievement I am proud of.  I enjoyed it so much that I've signed up for the ballot for entry next year.  I just need to work on strengthening my knees.  If you're considering it I highly recommend it.

I've had a great response to my fund raising requests and some very generous donations.  Every penny counts and in the final push before the 28th July deadline even a couple of quid would be much appreciated.  I'm raising money for Refuge and your donation enables the charity to provide the support to those who need it the most.

It has been an enormous challenge for me to train and take part in this event.  I trained for last year's marathon & ended up with stress fractures in both legs.  26 miles is a long slog for me but your generosity helped to push me along.  Please give what you can.

If you're feeling generous you can donate through JustGiving.  It's quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Refuge gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, JustGiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.  All money goes directly to charity & the sponsorship they get from the London marathon goes a long way to keeping the charity going.  So please sponsor me now.

Cheers,

x Sarah
