I have pledged to ‘Step Up’ this January to raise funds for Refuge. This virtual challenge is about doing whatever you love to raise money for Refuge.
Refuge is a charity which supports women and children who have experienced violence and abuse (please take a look at their website for futher info).
These vital funds will help women and children take their first steps to escape domestic abuse.
* £156 will fund 3 nights in a Refuge shelter for a woman escaping domestic abuse.
* Almost 1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetime.
* 2 women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner.
* Refuge supports around 6,500 women and children on any given day who are escaping emotional, physical, financial or sexual abuse.
