Salaam!

This Ramadan, I'm teaming up with Human Appeal to help raise enough money to sponsor at least one orphan child for one year. 

Each morning in Ramadan, another 5,700 children will wake up in fear, newly-orphaned and at risk. In every community, orphans are always among the most vulnerable groups, often facing hunger, disease, exploitation and extreme cycles of poverty that they need help to break out of poverty. 

Each sponsorship will help a child to break that cycle, and give them the opportunity that all children deserve – a chance to be healthy, protected, and educated. To qualify for our sponsorship, the child must stay in school, ensuring they gain the education and skills for a better tomorrow. 

It’s Zakat-applicable too! 

“I and the one who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like these two” – and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them close together. (Bukhari)

The Prophet (saw) was so kind, compassionate, and merciful to orphan children. Let’s continue his legacy and show mercy to orphan children now.
