Pancreatic Cancer Action is the only UK charity dedicated to saving lives through early diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is the 5th biggest cancer killer and the 10th most common cancer in the UK. Your support means we can continue to raise awareness of the symptoms to ensure early diagnosis.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, your kind donation is really appreciated.

I've decided to participate in the Purple, Proud & Dry event for Pancreatic Cancer Action for January, which means going alcohol free for the whole month to help to raise funds and hopefully awareness about the cause and disease.

Sadly on 22nd September 2014, just 4 weeks after diagnosis we lost my lovely Step Dad, Colin Wagstaff (age 61) to stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer after a short period of illness and I honestly could not put into words just how devastating it was and obviously is.  It's still very early days for our family but I wanted to raise funds to try to help and assist others who are facing this evil disease, because people shouldn't have to go through this.

But unfortunately because certain types of Cancer such as Pancreatic do not get anywhere near the level of funding that they require for further research to aid early detection and cure then the survival rate still currently sits at 3%, which is exactly where it was 30-40 years ago - this is totally unacceptable and must change.

If it's more convenient then you can also donate via JustTextGiving using 70070 and code COLW 61, stating the amount that you wish to give.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
