Rosie May Foundation National 3 Peak 3 Day Challenge · 12 August 2021

Set up in memory of Rosie May Storrie, age 10, who was brutally murdered in 2003. The Rosie May Foundation is a little charity with a BIG vision committed to creating a living legacy for children, especially girls, giving them a future that Rosie May was denied. "Make A Difference Together"

Story

I first came to know about the Rosie May Foundation whilst living in Sri Lanka where my friend and I (whilst on a trip travelling around the country driving our own tuk tuk) were planning to visit and support their Think Pink tuk tuks which are driven by single mums as taxis for women and children. This enables them to earn a robust living to feed their families and provide personal safety to work and school.

This is just one part of the important work the charity does to support communities in the UK, Nepal and Sri Lanka in crisis and to prevent social isolation, exploitation and trafficking.

Due to the impact of Covid now more than ever they need support to continue their work. As I’m now back in the UK this offered the perfect opportunity to combine my love for hiking whilst finally getting to support this amazing cause. Joining the team at the Peak District, although 1 peak short due to work commitments it is probably more realistic as I’ve not been at my peak health recently. Thank you for your support in making a difference for those who need it during these challenging times 🧡
