Story

I am participating in the Kangaroo Island Marathon on 21st of May 2022 as part of the team "Run 4 Kids Cancers" in memory of my beautiful sister Charlotte Rose. Charlotte was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in August of 2019. Whilst she fought hard against this awful disease, she unfortunately passed away in April of 2021. Charlotte’s wish was for people to raise awareness for this disease, which claims the lives of many children and adolescents each year. Unfortunately, as this cancer is not as widely known as some other cancers, there has been a lack of new research and treatments available for sufferers. During Charlotte's fight, she received chemotherapy and other treatments which haven’t been updated or progressed for over 40 years due to the limited funding available. Charlotte really wanted to leave a legacy which inspired others to learn more about this disease, which will help save the lives of other young people suffering from Sarcoma related cancers.
