Story
During my freshman year, I had the opportunity to serve as a participant in Howard University’s Alternative Spring Break program serving in Baltimore,Maryland. The expereince truly impacted my life and reminded me of what it means to serve and to give back to those in need. I had the chance to connect with peers who were also excited to serve, postively impact the community and youth of Baltimore, as well as widen my perspective of the world around me.
Now in my sophomore year, I have the privilege of serving as a co-site coordinator for a new site, Cleveland,Ohio, under the initatives of youth empowerment and developing pathways to food stability.
The Howard University Alternative Spring Break Program is preparing to send Howard University students across the country and internationally to serve in underserved communities during their spring break. This student led program offers an opportunity for student leaders to develop leadership skills while feeding their passion for service. Because of the generous support of our donors the trip is offered at no cost to the students. We are very excited by the overwhelming response of student volunteers. Due to the record breaking numbers of interested students this year, more than ever, your support is essential.
Any amount of donation is greatly appericated. Share this information with your inner circle. Thank you for supporting Howard University Alternative Spring Break.
