I am doing The Big Sleep Out for CCP to raise funds so that some people, who aren't as lucky as you and me, can have a safe and warm place to sleep. My day job is about helping people in the worst housing, to have a more healthy, energy-efficient home .... but for too many even a roof over their heads is a luxury, let alone a secure enough place that could be retrofitted. 

Pretty much everything in life starts from access to a place to call home. The Big Sleep Out won't create more homes; but it will take the recipients a step closer to being safe and from there they just might be able to access the help they need. Many are working poor in full-time employment, but made homeless by a no-fault eviction or priced out of housing .. or maybe just in that spiral of no job/no home .
