Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity provides specialist nurses and support to seriously ill children. Today, there are over 200 Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses caring for over 40,000 seriously ill children across the UK.

Story

Around the 26th of July I am aiming to swim across the English Channel with friends Troy Bennett's and Guy Emerson. Swimming the Channel is a very exciting challenge and we’ve been training hard. More people have been to space & twice as many have climbed Mt.Everest- wish us luck! Some of the obstacles we have to overcome are: 40km of chilly sea (13 to 16°C without wetsuits); the tides; 800 ships, ferries, boats and yachts that use one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world each day; dolphins, seals, turtles, jellyfish, seaweed but hopefully no sharks.

I am raising funds for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, a local charity to where I live. The charity helps to make life better for seriously ill children and young people in the UK. They focus upon helping those who have the biggest needs, and who aren't being fully supported by anybody else. This might be because they have a serious rare condition, be living in poverty, or not have any family at all. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Sarita
