With the saddest heart in February my life was turned upside down I lost my precious daughter only 7 days old to a dreadful disease called Necrotizing Enterocolitis also known as NEC.It is disease that effects mostly the intestine of premature babies which is common in premature babies in neonatal care.The wall of the intestine is invaded by bacteria,which causes infection and inflammation that can destroy the wall of the bowel and once that happens sadly there is nothing that can be done to fix it.
Ever since Emilia has passed there is no words to describe life as a bereaved parent living everyday without one of my children.I have good and bad days but to be completely honest there is more bad than good but SANDS have been one of my biggest lifelines offering the best support in my darkest hours and for that I will be forever grateful.Its so touching and means so much that I have this charity with myself and other bereaved parents.If it wasn’t for SANDS when Emilia passed I wouldn’t have precious keepsakes like her memory box as well as the one provided for her big sister Sofia which is one of many reasons why it’s time to give something back by completing this 5K as it’s the least I can do.Any donation big or small helps this Charity to provide anyone help and support after losing a baby,working to improve the care bereaved parents receive,and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies lives.
