Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. We help them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm doing the Do-it! London-Brighton cycle this Sunday to raise money for Place2Be, a children's charity working in schools to support pupils with special educational needs and emotional and behavioural problems.

The charity provides one-to-one counselling sessions, drop-ins, group work and referrals in primary school and secondary school environments, as well as support services for parents, carers and school staff.

72% of children receiving one-to-one counselling through Place2Be over one year showed real improvement, even more so for pupils within the most severe group of emotional difficulties.

I'm trying to raise £100, which could pay for at least 10 one-to-one counselling sessions, or 20 lunchtime drop-in services, or contribute to the cost of group work with children.

I'm actually terrible at cycling, but I'm committed to try to cycle these 54 miles so please read more about the charity below and dig deep for a few pounds to help me raise £100 :)
