Severn Hospice provides specialist care and emotional support for families in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales living with an incurable illness. All our care is provided for free, but it is not without cost - we have to raise £2 for every £3 we spend. It's because you care that we can.

Story

Hello, my name is Savannah and I  would like to share with you a small part of my personal life. In December, last year,  I lost my dad  to  Bowel Cancer at the young age of 50. The Severn Hospice provided excellent care for him in his last weeks, and they were absolutely fantastic. It takes a lot of money to keep the Hospice running, and they provide amazing free care for people with life threatening illnesses.

My dad used to do a lot of running in his younger days, he entered for several  half  marathons. In particular he ran the Goyt Valley Half Marathon in 1983 in 1 hr 32mins 9secs and in later years accomplished the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon in 1hr 53mins. He always asked me to go running with him but I never did because I always knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with him.  I would love to get a time like that, however, I am more realistic and would just love to complete it and make my dad proud. Therefore, I have entered the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon on September 9th 2012 in an effort to raise much needed funds for the Hospice.

If you donate to this cause it would be fantastic and a great help to the Hospice to enable them to continue to provide  the excellent  care and quality of life that they give to many families' loved ones. Thank you
