SAVE YEMEN.
Yemen is going through the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, this is an emergency. The country is currently fighting through a world pandemic, an epidemic, famine and war, all at the same time!! This is something the whole world is sleeping on. United Nations have predicted that the pandemic plus Yemen’s already ongoing crisis can wipe the whole of Yemen off the map. This could make the whole country extinct. Finished.
A painful overview of their current situation;
- Every 10 minutes a child under 5 dies of preventable causes
- 24 Million people are starving,
- 20.1 million who are food insecure
- 19.6 million in need of basic healthcare
- 17.8 million in need of water and sanitation
- 3 million acutely malnourished children, pregnant/lactating women
- 3.3 million internally displaced people due to war
£25 - Could provide a family of seven with cash and food vouchers for 2 weeks
£50 -Could provide a family of seven with cash and food vouchers for 4 weeks.
£100 -Could provide a family of seven with cash and food vouchers for 8 weeks
Please find it in your hearts to donate towards the cause, anything small or big is more than what they had yesterday, no donation is too small. Supplies are scarce, causing inflation in Yemen, making it an even more difficult situation, providing food vouchers and cash has two benefits, it will help the economy by putting money back into Yemen, but also provides food to those who need it most. For this reason we chose to work with Save the Children. Along with the fact that they have the best monetary rates to help families in need, which means we can help more people for less.
It is our responsibility as advantaged people to give to those who don’t know where their next meal will come from. We together can help save this country, they are in desperate need of our help. Moreover, it is our duty to share this message with others, to raise awareness about the status of Yemen’s people in Islam and the hardships they are facing.
Allah (swt) described the people of Yemen as “…a people He loves, and they love Him…” (Qur’an, 5:54).
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ’The best of men are the men of Yemen, belief is Yemeni and I am Yemeni…’ [Ahmad].
The people of Yemen are particularly dear to the heart of the Prophet (saw). Time and again, he not only praises them as obedient, sensitive and virtuous, he also expresses an extraordinary love for them, even linking his own bloodline with them. The support and devotion they gave him were precious to him, and he uses powerful language to describe his connection to them. So how can we not love those our Prophet saw loved, how are we going to allow these people to die? They need us.
