We are restoring West Horsley Place to create a centre for arts and crafts

Story

If you're clued up on your Ghosts knowledge, you'll know that the location of Button House is actually West Horsley Place, a Grade I listed medieval manor house and estate in Surrey, England that dates all the way back to 1425. You may also know that, along with some outbuildings, the estate is itself in some state of disrepair.

We reached out to see if we could offer our help and are delighted to be working alongside West Horsley Place and the Mary Roxburghe Trust in order to raise funds to help restore this beautiful building, which is currently on Historic England's Heritage 'At Risk' Register.

"West Horsley Place is an extraordinary Grade I listed manor house which dates from 1425. It is currently on Historic England’s At Risk Register and in urgent need of restoration. The Mary Roxburghe Trust’s mission is to restore the house, gardens, 380-acre estate and 8 Grade II listed outbuildings and to create a vibrant centre for the performing and visual arts and the teaching of crafts. After 1000 years in private ownership West Horsley Place is being reborn as a place for everyone to enjoy."

Grade I listed West Horsley Place is one of Surrey’s most intriguing historic houses. Sadly, many of the buildings are in desperate need of repair. Our vision is to restore the buildings and open West Horsley Place to the public for the first time in 1,000 years as a cultural and artistic centre.
