40th 1/2 marathon for the animals at Shepreth Wildlife Park · 16 May 2020

Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity was established in 2011 to help fundraise for important work both home and abroad. The organisation raises funds and educates visitors about species which are threatened with extinction, and also plays a major role in funding the Shepreth Hedgehog Hospital.

Story

Shepreth Wildlife Park closed it's doors to visitors on 20th March, and with it our main source of income.

Without the overwhelming generosity of all our supporters in those first few weeks, we wouldn't have had the funding to feed and look after all the animals. We have to continue to raise £50,000 every month in order to maintain this level of care.

I have lived and worked at the wildlife park my entire life and I truly believe in the conservation work we do both locally, with the Hedgehog Hospital, and across the globe. I am passionate about the education and awareness we share about the plight of endangered species with our visitors. Our supporters have been our lifeline since March.

So ... I decided to run a half-marathon on my 40th birthday around the wildlife park (several times!) in order to raise essential funding for all the animals and team at Shepreth.

Thank you to everyone who supported this. We are all so very grateful at a time when it is difficult for each and everyone of us. With my very best wishes to you - Rebecca x
