Story

Sawyer and Co. tackle THE BEAST to raise money for local homeless charity, The Clock Tower Sanctuary

On Sunday 27
th September 2015, at Ashburnham Place, Battle, an intrepid team of four from Sawyer & Co. will tackle the toughest course from the SPARTAN RACE portfolio, THE BEAST! Ashley, Lee, Nick and James are aiming to complete this rigorous course to raise both money and awareness for the Clock Tower Sanctuary, Brighton & Hove’s local homeless charity.

The Sanctuary provides information, advice and support to young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are homeless or insecurely housed. Since conception in 1998, the charity has helped thousands of vulnerable young people - offering a friendly safe space, food and drink, access to computers and the internet, signposting to housing, health, education, employment and social services - as well as practical and emotional support to help young people get their lives back on track. It does an amazing job for these vulnerable young people and we at Sawyer & Co are keen to give back to our community by supporting this essential service.

Our team will have six months to prepare for the Spartan Race’s toughest obstacle course. Born in the scenic hills of Vermont, Spartan Race was created to bring the excitement of obstacle racing to spectators and athletes alike. Spartan Race was created with a simple, yet important, mission in mind. That mission is to get people back to their primal roots. To do what they were designed to do: run, jump, climb and sweat. THE BEAST is the toughest of the races. Those competing will endure a 20km run on a course filled with mud, water and 25+ obstacles designed to help them discover their inner Spartan!

We are Strong; We are Unbreakable; We are Spartan! These are the words that underpin the Spartan races. They support their mission which is to provide competitors with a life changing experience, proving that they are stronger than they think.

The Sawyer & Co. team with your support and their strength and determination, will not only achieve life changing experiences for themselves, but more importantly will help the vulnerable youth of our city to achieve the same through the great work of the CTS. So dig deep and give generously in support of an extremely worthwhile cause.
