Say NO to the Hairy Face!

Say NO to the Hairy Face! · 1 May 2020
Last year our friend 'Clean shave Dave' (not an official nickname) found out that our little dude, Noah, has Cystic fibrosis and wanted to raise some money for the CF Trust Trust. So he decided to go on shave strike and grow his beard for a full year from 29th July 2019 (which happens to be both mine and Dave's birthday) to 29th July 2020 (also mine and Dave's birthday!)
So Dan jumped on the bandwagon and said he'd join in. I wasn't keen on the idea but I didn't protest as they were raising money for CF!
Fast forward 9 months and the hairy yeti that I now live with has decided that it was too easy to be lazy and not shave (he's quite partial to the path of least effort....yes, that's a thing!) and he needed to turn it up a notch to get donations.
Which brings us to this...the fundraising war of the Jesse household.
If Dan raises the largest sum of donations by midnight on 28th July 2020, then he has committed to growing his beard for another year! That's another 12 whole months of hairy getting hairier!! 😫 And to put that in perspective...I have a force field that is strong and is activated with lightning speed whenever he threatens with a kiss...and that isn't just a recent thing...I've hated this beard for a long time and miss the face underneath!
If I raise the most money for CF by midnight on 28th July 2020 then....you guessed it....the shaver returns!! 😄 Woop woop!! And Dan will shave the beard to an acceptable level at which you can see his face again. Note: STILL GETS TO KEEP A BEARD!!
AND I will have a very Happy Birthday!!. 🎉 ...I have been looking forward to my birthday so much this year, knowing that the beard was coming off, so the thought of it still being here is just....well...there are no words!
So please...I'm pleading with you to support me and to save me from Beardy McBeardface that currently resides with me. I don't think I can cope with another 12 months of this hairy invasion on my life and home...help me bring back Dan!! (Or I fear he may have to move out to the van!)
Note the cover photo...a memory from a happier time where Dan's face was still with us! 😢
Dan used some dirty tactics and set up his fundraising page without telling me, giving him a full days head start, but as we all know from the well known tale...the hare (and in this case hopefully the 'hair') did NOT win the race!
On a more serious note (not taking away from the seriousness of the plea above!) The CF Trust are going through difficult times during this pandemic, which is affecting their donations massively with lots of fundraisers being cancelled, so at the end of the day, the more money we can raise for them the better. Noah would not be on the medication that he is on without the time and money spent by CF Trust on research and development and support for CF families. They are invaluable to us and to Noah! Who, by the way, is doing great at the moment thanks to modern science and technology and lots of support from you guys...long may it last!! 🥰
Here is the link to Dan's in case you want to see the competition. (Not to donate obviously...or I may have to lose you as a friend...just saying 😬)

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
