Scarlett's litter picking

Hazel Hannan is raising money for Chester Zoo

Team: Chester zoo

Scarlett's litter picking · 25 May 2020

Despite everything, Chester Zoo is still preventing extinction. From caring for 35,000 animals to helping conservation organisations across the world manage the impact of this crisis, our fight for wildlife will not stop!

Story

Scarlett is going to aim to pick 5 big black bags more if possible of rubbish in 3 weeks. (Wearing gloves and using litter picker) she loves picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin. So what's a better way then raise some money for it at the same time. Were going to aim to do places espically where there is animals. Daily update to picture will be posted we will be starting this from Wednesday. Any donations would be appreciated

Litter is bad for animals and people. Plastic waste suffocates, disables and kills thousands of animals each year. Litter is dirty and spoils our environment

The zoo has been closed since  March 21 - but still needs around £465,000 a month to feed and look after the animals. With more than 35,000 animals to take care of.
They are a conservation and education charity committed to PREVENTING EXTINCTION

Update 22 April: While we welcome the governments announcement to create a support fund for zoos, our interpretation of the limited guidance we have been sent is that it wont be aimed at large, charity zoos like Chester Zoo. Therefore, as a conservation and education charity, we must continue our fundraising efforts. Thank you for your support
