We have decided to raise money for the Severn Hospice because due to the impact of Covid-19 smaller charities such as Severn Hospice have had to cancel many fundraising events which are key to their survival. A number of the volunteers in this challenge have seen the incredible work this chairity does and it's important for the local community that the Severn Hospice continues to provide these amazing services for years to come.
The challenge is to run 1000km across 7 consecutive days starting Wednesday 6th May. Volunteers from both Shrewsbury CC and Haughmond FC will be running each day in a relay format therefore only one person will be running at any given time in order to hit the daily target of 143km per day.
For anyone not familar, Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help. It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you. For every £1 you donate, they will spend 86p directly on care - and use the remaining 14p to make another £1. Last year, all those individual donations helped us provide £9.88 million of caring services.
We appreciate times are difficult so any donations will be greatly appreciated and will ensure that family members continue to get the care they deserve at the time they need it most.
Thank You
