Almost 22.6 million children do not go to school and half of the population, including two thirds of women, cannot read or write. Islam places great emphasis on education with the first word revealed to our Prophet (saws) being, 'Read'.
Out of approximately 22 million children between the ages of 5-11 years old in Punjab, around 3.3 million children, mostly girls, are out of school owing to the grossly ill-equipped public schooling system that is unable to meet the needs of a growing population.
Join us on a rewarding journey to open a new school in Mohri Sharif village in tehsil Kharian, Gujrat district, the Punjab Province iA. This exciting new institution will provide primary education to 250 children each year, offering new hope to a community for generations to come insha'Allah.
This school will operate on a self-sustainable model once open, meaning that our support now, will continue to bear fruits for many years to come. It will offer hope of a new future, giving children the gift of education, so they can maximise their potential.
Many of our friends, relatives and loved ones have completed their assessment in this life. With the amount of departures we are seeing on a daily basis, I invite you to join me in making a positive contribution for our own journey that we shall inevitably take one day.
With us or without us, the school will be established, by His permission. Let's work together to achieve our target and remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad (saws):
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said: ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)
May Allah (swt) accept our efforts, facilitate our work and grant us success in this life and the hereafter. Ameen!
