Mysmallhelp aims to relieve poverty in Nepal by providing education and support to orphaned, poor and ex-street children that otherwise would not be able to go to school. Your small help can make a big difference!

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of  you know this project started after my visit to Nepal in early 09'. Mohan, my good friend asked for assistance to help the children of Drumthali. After a follow up visit in November 09' we agreed to proceed with the project and build a new school.

Soon after my return to the UK we began raising funds by holding our inaugural charity golf day at Lords, followed soon after by the sale of various pieces of sporting memoraibilia  (thanks to Ian, Ben, Ammer & Steffan)

On my last visit (March 11') I was given the pleasure of meeting Binod who has kindly offered his assistance to help bring the project to life. Binod, thank you so much for your support!

Riverside Primary school in Essex held an assembly in March and kindly donated education materials and clothing for the children, they also held a photo session and sent some wonderful artwork to the village with their best wishes. As soon as the gifts were given to the school we set out finalising our plans, purchased the land and formed the school council, met various NGO's and finalised the building plans.

Mohan arranged to have the the site cleared and we have now started laying the foundations, we have plans to start the construction as soon as the monsoon season come's to an end in August. All systems go!

So where does that leave us now?

I have had the very good fortune of being invited to join the ranks of a wonderful charity, MySmallHelp has invited me to join them as we have many shared goals, Leander and her team have been doing some wonderful work in Nepal and Peru and together with Kirstie providing assistance from London I have decided to join them on their joyney and they have offered their asistance to get our school project completed.

We now need to raise the remaining funds to complete the project by the end of the year. Please help in any way you can, any amount is welcome no matter how small! For all you keen Golfers we have arranged the 2nd Charity Challenge Cup to be held at Lords. If you would like to attend please let me know as soon as possible as we would love the day to be another roaring sucsess.

Leander the Co founder of MySmallHelp will be flying in from Peru to give us an update on the projects that are in progress and to share some of her experiences and help raise awareness of what we are trying to achive with MySmallHelp.
