Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Redrow are having their 40th Anniversary this year and looking to celebrate this with the regions doing various things to raise money for charity. I have chosen CLIC Sargent as it inspired me after reading what support they have given the family of Mandy Howie, one of our Sales Consultants whose daughter Chase is battling with the rare form of Sarcoma cancer.
I have a daughter who’s 13 months old and one on the way (The missus is 31 weeks gone at the moment!) and it really hit home to me how having support for a family in difficult times is really important and also I’ve worked with Mandy on a few developments and thinks she’s great!
I would like to raise money for the cause by canoeing from Northampton to the Sea. I’m not sure how many people have done it before but I’ve got to give it a go – I’m sure it won’t be an “Oar” Deal. I’m also looking to camp by the river so will be “in tents”. There’s a total of over 35 locks to get around and would look to complete it in 4 days. I believe it would be approx. 94 miles long following the river Nene.
What’s great is that Redrow Homes offices are about 5 meters away from the river Nene so can’t resist starting from the offices. I will have support from guys from the office that I work with along the way who will be stepping in to help canoe on each of the days with me to help push me along.
Itinerary will be –
1 - Friday 2th May– Head off from Redrow offices in Northampton at Approx 8:30am. Philip Clark (Senior Project Co-ordinator RHSM) in the canoe to support for one day.
2 – Arrive at Ringstead Willy Watt marina at approx. 15:30pm and set up camp (22 miles approx.)
3 – Saturday 3rd May – Head off from Ringstead at 7:30am. James Tracey (Trainee Quantity Surveyor RHSM) in the canoe to support for one day.

5 – Sunday 4th May – Head off from Fotheringhay at 9am. Michael Glass (Graduate RHSM) in the canoe to support for two days.
