This Educational Trust has been set up in the name of Joanna Morgan Jones with the support of Dollar Academy. Joanna died in March 2012, aged 42, from a brain tumour. The Trust provides a bursary to students wishing to study medicine, to attend Dollar Academy for their 5th and 6th years .

Story

Between the 21st and 22nd of August the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde Air Squadron will attempt to take on the three highest peaks (Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) in under 24 hours.

Seven walkers and a large support team will represent the squadron on this challenge in which we aim to raise as much money as possible for The Joanna Morgan Jones Educational Trust.

This Educational Trust has been set up in the name of Joanna Morgan Jones with the support of Dollar Academy. Joanna died in March 2012, aged 42, from a brain tumour.

The Trust lies close to the hearts of the squadron and the purpose of it is threefold:

To establish an annual lecture in Jo’s name, given by people working in the medical field to inform and inspire students considering a career in medicine.

To provide a two-year bursary at Dollar Academy that will fund the final two years of schooling for a student, enhancing their opportunity of pursuing a career in their chosen field of medicine.

To support the Brain Cancer Research arm of Cancer Research UK.

Please support the squadron on this epic challenge as we aim to raise as much money as possible for this very worthwhile cause.

If you are a UK taxpayer please select gift aid when prompted as this will reclaim an extra 25% on what you have already donated, which will be sent directly to the charity.
