Asda Foundation Leeds Half Marathon 2019 · 12 May 2019 ·

Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

My little boy Dylan was diagnosed with Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) - a cause of Nephrotic Syndrome, early in 2018.

FSGS is a very rare disease which attacks the kidneys causing serious damage, and may one day lead to kidney failure. Protein leaks from his kidneys, meaning he can sometimes be puffy - therefore he has a very restricted 'low salt' diet, and has to watch how much he drinks.

Me, my Dad and my brother will be running the Leeds Half Marathon in May 2019. Please donate kindly, any donations appreciated no matter how big or small.

Thank you!
