Navy Seal Challenge - Run 4 Miles Every 4 Hours for 48 Hours · 10 July 2020

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

From 4pm on Friday 10th July to 4pm Sunday 12th July, Scott Gray, Jonathan Butler, Niki Puleio, Kyle Blackmore and Brigette Edwards will be taking on the unique David Goggings Navy Seal challenge of running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours (4x4x48).

At first the idea of running 4 miles every 4 hours across 48 hours seems easy.  For those who run regularly, 4 miles isn't a huge distance.  However, the number of times 4 miles is required across a 48 hour span quickly begins to seem like torture as those undertaking the challenge clock up almost 50 miles.  That's nearly 2 whole marathons in 2 days.

As the challenge is so close to 2 marathons, we have decided to take on the extra challenge of running an additional 4.4 miles overall to make it two full marathons back to back.  This challenge is certainly going to be difficult, physically and mentally.

We are doing this to raise funds for Crohn's & Colitis UK, a charity that is close to Scott's heart after being diagnosed in 2017.

Anything you can contribute towards helping us our target will be massively appreciated.
