Story

As a lot of people and aware I lost my mum in June of this year. My mums' final days were spent at Mountbatten Hampshire were the incredible staff made my mum comfortable before she passed away. So, with this in mind and the help of my Dad I'd like to try and raise some money for Mountbatten Hampshire but before I go into that I'd like to share a a few details of mums journey.

My mum was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 14 with doctors only giving her a 50% chance of survivak. After a long battle my mym was finally cancer free at 16. The doctors said she would never be able to conceive as the cancer left her infertile but against all odds my mum fell pregnant with me at 19 years of age and then going on to have two more pregnanices with my brother and sister. It was at 8 months pregnant with my younger sister that she discovered a lump in her left breast. Shortly after my sister's arrival doctors broke the devastating news to her that she has breast cancer.

I was 8 years old and remember being told the news 'Your mum has cancer'. Shortly after this we were told that the cancer was terminal and had spread to other parts of her body including her bones in a very short amount of time. The doctors didnt think she'd have long to live but 11 years on she was still fighting and making the most of what she had, but that was my mum in a nutshell living for everyday as it if was her last.

Tragically on the 24th of June 2021 at the age of 39 my mum lost her fight to cancer.

Myself and my family are still absolutely heartbroken, but we are also glad that she is at peace and no longer suffering.

The hospital where my mum passed away, Mountbatten Hampshire in West End, were so incredibly kind and caring throughtout my mum's illness. She would sometimes go there for respite and to get better. They always made sure to took after her but also to look after me, my brother and my sister and I couldnt thank them enough for their amazing work and there kindness.

So, with this in mind and with help from my dad and the Bootcamp that he attends, we are going to try and raise as much money as we can for Mountbatten Hampshire through the Boxing Event that my dad has entered taking place on the 11th of December 2021 with me in the corner as this trainer.

So, guys we are asking everybody to donate as little or much as they can for this incredible cause and the amazing people that helped look after my mum and support me and my family through such a difficult time.

Please make a donation no matter how big or small that you can manage and thank you all kindly for your incredible supportfor this incrediblle place abd the amazing people that work there

Bonnie.
