Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Did you know almost 600 people in the UK develop dementia everyday.
At the moment there is no cure for dementia. Once a person has dementia, they will have it for the rest of their life. Today, there are no dementia survivors but research can change this.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, they’re challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure. They’re mission is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025.
We are raising money by taking part in SWIMATHON 2019 and attempting to swim 5k to raise money for this great charity. It takes place on Sunday 31st March, so we have given ourselves a short time to prepare! The removal of 1 hours sleep as the clocks change the previous night will provide a further challenge. At our age every hour of sleep is precious!
