Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. . I am running the 10K in Athens on 31st October, 2010, to raise money for The Mark Wright Project Centre. Corporal Mark Wright, a Paratrooper with the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment based in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, was killed in action on 6th September 2006, aged 27 years. Mark entered a minefield in an extraordinary attempt to save the lives of other injured soldiers, but sadly Mark lost his life during the incident. Mark was awarded the George Cross, one of the highest awards in the UK for acts of gallantry.
The Mark Wright Project Centre, based in Scotland, actively supports ex-service men and women and their families in addressing the invisible wounds of war, and easing ex-service men and women's transition into civilian life.
