Story

This year I’m taking on the 20‑mile Dundee Kiltwalk, and I’m doing it in support of a place that genuinely makes a difference in our community: Fairfield Community Sports Hub.

I play walking football on Sundays with the St James Mental Health Walking Football group, and every week we donate to support the Hub and its food larder. Over time I’ve seen just how much good they do — not just through sport, but through the sense of belonging they create for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Fairfield Community Sports Hub is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, founded in 2007 with a simple but powerful ethos:

- Bring pride and connectedness back into the community

- Create a safe, welcoming space for everyone

- Use sport, creative classes, and recreational activities to bring people together

- Make opportunities accessible regardless of background or circumstance

That’s the kind of community I want to support — and the kind of community I’m proud to walk 20 miles for.

If you can spare anything at all, it’ll go directly towards keeping these programmes running, supporting the food larder, and helping the Hub continue to be a lifeline for so many.

Thanks for reading, thanks for supporting, and wish me luck — 20 miles is a long way, even in a kilt.

Let’s do this.
