Scott's Beard Shave

Beard Shave · 12 March 2022
My name is Scott and believe it or not, I haven’t always had a beard. Over the past decade however, I have sported a rather unruly Mr Twit-esq style face.
Some might say I’m compensating for the lack of follicles on my head…and some of those people might well be right. But this isn’t the time nor the place for therapy. Now is the time to come clean. To make space on my face. To trim the chin. To brave the shave (that might be trademarked). So I am shaving off my beard on 12th March 2022!
I've decided to do it to support Mysight York who help people living with sight loss to make confident choices about their lives, to stay independent, connect with their community, and receive practical and emotional support.
A small organisation, reliant on volunteers to deliver activities and reliant on donations:
The impact the charity has had, and continues to have, on the lives of people with sight loss in York is incredible. Every year, making thousands of calls, delivering many hundreds of pieces of specialist equipment, visiting people in their own homes, running hundreds of groups, and supporting people within York hospital’s Eye Clinic.
MySight York is quite simply a brilliant organisation. I have witnessed first-hand how, through the pandemic, staff, volunteers and members alike, never stood still.
The dedication, hard work, and commitment shown, is something I’m proud to be associated with.
Please give generously, I promise not to grow it back the very next day, which of course, I easily could.
Thank you,
Scott
