Please Help Me Raise Money for the Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis!

 

 

 

 

 

 

In order to raise money for the fight against MS I have taken on the challenge of cycling in the MS Global 2007 – which takes place from September 5 - 12th in the famed Dolomite mountains of northern Italy.  In 2002, professional bike racer and Olympic Champion Tyler Hamilton conceived of MS Global as a way to increase awareness of MS and raise funds to find a cure.  Each fall for the past four years, cyclists from 11 countries have gathered for a week to participate in MS Global, organized by the Tyler Hamilton Foundation (THF).  This year’s week long ride will cover approximately 450km and include some of the most famous climbs in the world such as the Passo dello Stelvio, the second highest road pass in Europe.  The Stelvio is a grueling 24km ride up 48 hairpin turns with an average gradient of 7.4%.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Funds raised through MS Global are used to directly support the research efforts of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) and the national MS Societies. In addition to raising research monies, MS Global increases public awareness of MS, MSIF and THF, and promotes the health and personal empowerment of individuals with MS through cycling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Multiple sclerosis is a degenerative neurological disease that is typically diagnosed in young adults between the ages of 20 to 40.
