Story
On 14th July 2018 Laura Fiddes-Baron and her 2 of her friends will be completing a new version of the National 3 Peaks Challenge.
I'm sure you all know about the 3 Peaks Challenge which involves scaling the 3 tallest peaks in Scotland, England and Snowdon (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon). Laura and her friends have decided to make it even harder by doing the scramble routes onto each peak.
Ben Nevis will be ascended via the CMD Arete (Aknife edge ridge leading onto the summit)
Scafel Pike will be ascended via Broad Crag (a rock climb/scramble towards the summit)
Snowdon via Crib Goch (A knife edge ridge onto the summit)
This will add both the addition of extra mileage to cover than the normal routes would take and also a lot more technicality.
The group will aim to do the challenge in 24 hours however saftey along with weather conditions will play a major part in whether this is achievable on the day. They are praying for little wind and good visability to give them the best possible chance!
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
